Bingfield Park

Working closely with a range of stakeholders including residents, youth and community groups, sports clubs, the metropolitan police and the adjacent Crumbles Castle adventure playground, a site and context masterplan was developed. This work was co-ordinated as part of the wider Cally Liveable Neighbourhood strategy. The works to the park include a refurbished ballcourt with 40m long damp garden providing sustainable drainage and biodiversity enhancements. A new playground includes a unique bespoke play structure taking reference from the adjacent Crumbles Castle including castle rampart walls, draw bridge, tower slide and lookouts. To assist with urban cooling the play space includes planted gardens with specimen pine trees to provide shade. To promote heathier, greener lifestyles, an outdoor gym which is free to all, provides cardio, calisthenics and weight training equipment to support a diverse range of visitors to the park.
