Foxhill Recreation Ground

Sheffield City Council sought to ‘develop a regeneration masterplan for Fox Hill recreation ground to account for changes happening to the adjacent housing estate and future potential for new development’. The project was developed in the context of the wider SOAR Green Space Commission and Park City Programme.

Through and extensive programme of community and stakeholder participatory workshops and events a masterplan emerged, responding to the unique landscape character of the adjacent ‘back edge’ escarpment. The plan included a bespoke natural playground consisting of play elements constructed from large blocks of stone and stainless steel, BMX track, new grass football pitches, with community gardens set out across a series of stone edged terraces.
